can ghb come out positive for meth and amphetamines on a at home drug test kit? my boyfriend is a recovering meth addict and about 2 days ago i noticed he looked weird, i accused him of relapsing but he says he did not. I later on got a drug test at Walgreen's and he finally admitted to drinking a cap full of this liquid nasty tasting stuff (his description) his friend offered him... the drug test came out positive for meth and amphetamines. i searched on yahoo to c if i found anything on this, and i found out it might have been GHB (Gamma-Hydroxybutyric Acid) "the date rape drug" but my question is can GHB cause the drug test to come out positive for meth and amphetamines?

They test me with a 5 panel drug testing kit. It tests for all the different kind of drugs. Amphetamines, Cannabinoids, etc. I have been clean for about 3 months now and I really wanna smoke. I'm afraid of getting tested. So how do i pass? My mom always tests me as soon as i wake up if she's suspicious. Dont tell me not to smoke. thats not what this is about. Thanks guys. No. See. I just found out I have a drug test with my probation officer on wends. I do not take any drugs but I have? been taking diet pills that contain ephedra. I didnt take any today and wont take any tommorow but I am scared they are going to show up as amphetamines in my drug test. Does anyone know if they give false positives? and also should I tell my probation officer that I have been taking the diet pills before I take the test? i have a drug test on Friday. I have never smoked or anything but on Monday my roommate gave me a Concerta? pill to study for my final. Then I took half an Ativan to fall asleep at night. So my Mom thinks I'm doing Ecstasy... and I'm not. Advice? Ok, here's some background information. I'm 15 years old, i lead a very active lifestyle, both in sports and with friends, parties, etc., I live in New York City, and i'm always out on the weekends (my weekdays are filled with school, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Muay Thai). So, for some reason, whenever i come home past 10 o'clock on a friday or a saturday, my pupils are apparently dilated. Now, I don't enjoy drinking, especially since i have seen the negative effects it can have on a person and their family. (alcoholic family members, YEAH!) I don't smoke cigarettes, and i don't do any hard drugs. I say hard drugs because i've been known to like me some marijuana... but i haven't smoked in a few months for personal reasons. Now, one day on my way out to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, my mom said she saw a pill fall out behind me near the front door. The only problem is, i have no idea how it got there. honestly... i bought a drug test kit to see what the hell it was and it appeared to be an amphetamine. So by now, this is looking really really bad for me. I might buy a hair drug test, seeing as the results show drug history for 90 days. Hopefully this will give my parents a rest in their thoughts that their 15 year old son is going out thizzin' every week. This would also save me some grief. My mom urine tested me last week, and i came up negative for everything. (the test was i believe a 10 or 12 panel.) The only problem is, i have heard about there being false positives. If i get a false positive, my life is over. Like, OVER. Hahaha. And to top the whole situation off, i had a tough semester and failed two classes by half a point each. My own fault, i now have all A's. The funny thing is, a ton of my friends want to try Ecstasy, and i'm the guy who tells them how much it can screw up your brain. Question for Dr, P.A., Nurses, (especially in Maryland) -? Bear with me plz while I "spout off" on a rant for one moment because I am still (1) ticked off (2) shocked (3) confused - about what happened at my regular family medical dr's office this afternoon. I take a few RX's prescribed by my family doctor on a regular maintenance basis. He also gave me a low dose xanax (1/4 mg) RX a few weeks ago as I had been having periodic panic attics and problems related to anxiety/worry, etc. I went in today to get a refill on the xanax RX (naturally you have to go into the office to get that as its controlled). I got to the office,they asked me to sit down, I waited about 1/2 hr, finally a nurse came out and called me in an exam room. She said "we have a new policy where we do drug screening before we refill controlled RX's for our patients" She said they were initally doing it to every patient with an controlled rx. They had me give a urine sample, then tested it with an in-office drug screening kit. Took about 10 minutes. She comes back, and said while it did show normal level of xanax (she said that was fine, no problem), it also tested positive for Amphetamines !! Let me add I have been battling a severe weight problem the last few years, and for my own health need to lose about 140 lbs, to get to my normal weight. A couple weeks ago I consulted a weight loss doctor via a reference from a friend who had good results, and went to see him - he put me of course on a calorie restricted diet with exercise, and also gave me an RX to take one phentermine 37.5 appetite supressant per day. I go every 2 weeks for him to check my progress and to take vitals & see how my overall health is doing. Its working very well and I am losing weight at a decent pace so far, of course it has only been a couple weeks at this point. So I told my family doctor today that the appetite supressant was likely the positive reading for amphetamine. He got very upset and almost angry and said "this is not right, we have to send this in for further testing, etc etc" I told him I'd give him my rx & records from the diet physician. He refused to renew my xanax rx due to this. Whats going on? I am in Maryland by the way. Have some federal or state laws changed recently in the medical field, that now require them to force patients to submit to Urine Tests for drugs before they can get their RX refilled? I feel persecuted and like I am being treated like a criminal to be honest & I told the doctor that. Whats going on, does anyone in the medical field know or can explain all this to me? Also, WHO pays for all this urine drug testing, and further lab work now since he says he has to send it in for further analysis or something. Am I supposed to pay for this crap when I did not requiest it or approve it or agree to it? What right do they have to do all this, and deny refilling your RX, and who ultimately will get the bill and pay for this drug screening ??? Please advise from anyone with recent experience in this- its very bizarre to me and I am still shocked about the whole thing. They had me there for over TWO hours doing all this today. I guess a big part of what bothers me is how it was sprung on me without warning - it almost seems to violate your personal rights, to force you to submit to drug testing at your own family dr's office, prior to them dispensing any RX's to you. Also as I said, who pays for the costs of these drug tests? I mean are they going to "force" the patient to also pay for the testing too, when he/she never asked for it? Something just seems totally bizarre about this whole thing, I have never heard of anyone in my life tell me their family doctor tested them like some sort of common criminal who's just been arrested for DUI/DWI, etc.
