How Accurate Are Pregnancy Blood Tests Knowledge Base
I'm wondering if anyone knows how accurate pregnancy blood tests are? My period was just 4 days overdue but I just had a strong feeling I was pregnant so had a blood test done and it came back negative. Even though everyone says I shouldn't get my hopes up because these tests are so accurate I can't help wondering if there's a chance I still might be pregnant. Does anyone know what the chances are or had this happen to you? Thanks.
How accurate are pregnancy blood tests? I am 14 dpo today, and two days ago I had a doctors appointment (for something other than fertility) anyway he ordered a blood pregnancy test to make sure I wasn't pregnant and that way he could prescribe some medicine. SO THE TEST CAME OUT NEGATIVE, but I'm still hopefull because I am 5 days late. So has anyone had a negative pregnancy blood test and still was pregnant?

I did the ovulation test for 21 days as indicated by the doctor but all results were negative :(. How accurate are blood tests in detecting pregnancy? Okay, I had my Mirena IUD Removed 05/08/2007. My first mentral cycle was on 05/11/2007. I was due for my 2nd cycle on 06/07/2007. On 6/12 (I believe) I took a blood test and it came out negative to pregnancy. It's been almost 3 weeks awaiting my period and nothing! I had light pink spotting once - last week - but other than that nothing at all. I have been tired (very), had sore breasts, feeling dizzy, and nauseous. All possible PMS symptoms as well as pregnancy symptoms. I don't know .. Is the blood pregnancy test accurate? I normally have a very regular cycle, I am now 19 days late, no spotting what-so-ever. Accurate Pregnancy Tests? Hi, i had sex with a girl on the 30th of july, unprotected and i did not ejaculate from what i can remember, and am definitly not trying to get her pregnant. The next day i went out and bought her the Plan B pills and she took them almost exactly 24 hours after the deed was done. People have told me that Plan B is a pretty good anti-pregnancy pill but i am still worried about that tiny percentage. She says her period isnt due until around the 12th-17th, if she were to take a pregnancy test like First Response how accurate would it be? How accurate is a blood pregnancy test taken at the hospital? I've been struggling with whether I am pregnant or not for over a month now. My boyfriend and i had protected sex between the 10th and 25th of January multiple times. In the beggining of Febuary I started feeeling odd sensations in my stomach and immediatly bought a home pregnancy test which came out with a ngeative result. I waited for my period to come in January but it did not, which didn't come as a suprise as my period has NEVER been regular.I tested all through the month of Febuary using first morning urine, differnat times throughout the day, everything (these things are not cheap!)and all coming out with negative results. About a week and a half ago though, I was using an E.P.T. pregnancy test with blue dye, the plus/minus kind, and th initial result was negative, but after leaving the house and coming back a very very thin choppy blue vertical line had appeared. I read the instructions and it said not to let it sit for more than 10 minuets, after that the results would be invalid. The next day i tested again, this time using 2 digital test. both came out "not pregnant". I went to a planned parenthood clinic thinking that i could possibly be testing myself wrong, and the nurse came back, clear negative result. This is stressing me out beyond belief i want to know what is going on with my body ASAP. After going to the clinic i was still skeptical, so i scheduled to have a blood test done at the hospital yesterday, March 1. Even though i was almost positive that if i was this far a long it would have shown clearly on a urine test. I called this morning and the nurse told me the blood test was negative. How accurate is this test? I'm still worried about this. My mom thinks im worrying myself crazy, but this is important information that i ned to know as soon as possible, as this could affect my life forever. How accurate are home-pregnancy tests? I am going for a blood test tomorrow to be 100% sure. I have taken 4 home-pregnancy tests and they have all came out negative. I took the morning-after pill and I have not yet got my period. I should have got it on April the 2nd , but nothing until today and therefore I am worried i could be pregnant. Urine pregnancy tests are just as accurate as blood tests? I am the girl who's been posting about being a week late and flipping out. So, I took your advice and called a doctor to get a test. They told me that they would just give me an EPT because it's just as accurate as blood test. Is this true? Should I go, and just ask for the blood test? I know that the stress I am putting myself through right now will probably just delay my period more, but I'm not able to calm myself down. What do you guys think?

How accurate is the Downs syndrome blood test in pregnancy? Ive been told to decide if i want the blood test for downs at 16 weeks. Ive heard its not very accurate and gives false high risk results quite often (my friend had one, she had another blood test to be sure and it turns out she wasn't high risk). I still don't know if to have it or not as im young (20) and i don't want the unnecessary worry of a false high risk result, we worry enough in pregnancy! Does anybody know how accurate it is?? I took a blood test 7 weeks and 2 days after the last day i had sex. i've had 2 periods since that day--one was unusually light, but the other one was pretty normal. i was just concerned about my unusual period. i also didn't feel well during that time--but the symptoms went away after taking medicine for a slight uti. so the answer i received from the blood test (-) is undoubtedly correct now, right? i heard blood tests are better than hpts anyways, and they can pick up the hormone earlier. i know some people still get false negatives from blood tests, but only because they tested too early, so i can be secure with my result since it's been 7 weeks, right? like...i'd be 9 weeks along by now, and i haven't had any other symptoms.
