Blood Drug Testing

What does lactulose syrup taste like? I have to drink this soon for an IBS breath test and I like to be prepared. Also, how much do I have to drink? Is this the same stuff you drink for a gestational diabetes test?

Does this sound related to small intesinal bacterial overgrowth? I was diagnosed with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth in June by my gastroenterologist following a breath test. I started on flagyl but it made me sick. I was on it four days. He switched me to cipro which made me sick too. I was on it about four days too. He said it's nothing to worry about because it can't kill me or damage anything. Recently I've been having really bad nausea (to the point where I'm taking phenergan almost daily). I'm on six teaspoons of lactulose and two colace daily and still only go every 3 or so days. I vomited twice today. Then I had a bowel movement and ever since my belly feels messed up. I have random sharp pain under my ribs and bad cramps down below. I also look six months pregnant because of a distended stomach. Does this sound like that infection? I start rifaximin tomorrow 550 mg twice a day. Thanks in advance.
