Is this drug test kit bogus?

I'm 17. This is like the 3rd time I have been caught smoking weed. My dad said the deal is that I will be drug tested every week until I turn 18. Which is 6 months from now. He bought a 5 panel drug test kit. I did a test sample just to see how it worked. It said in the manual it takes 3-10 days for THC to leave your system. I tested positive for THC and it's been 14 days since I smoked last. Could the test be bogus? I tested negative on every other drug except THC. P.S. it was a urine sample

1. No the test is not bogus. I think the manual may have said it could be a MINIMUM of 3-10 days for the THC to leave your body. The body stores THC in your fatty cells. So, the heavier you are and the more dope you smoke, the longer it will take for the THC to leave your body. Do yourself a favor and give it up.
2. Yeah they are usually accurate. Things like THC stay in your system longer if you smoke a lot. There are drinks and pills you can use to flush out your system that a lot of my friends have had great success with. You can try them and then take a test to make sure it works for you. If you know when your dad plans on testing you, this might be an option for you. It can get expensive though. If he's going to do it randomly then you might be better laying off the pot until you're 18. Good luck.
