Blood Drug Testing

cocaine:do all drug test called COC look for the metabolite benzoylecgonine?

just bought a drug testing kit for cocaine for my son. The website calls it a COC test. I have heard that cocaine is really only detectable in the form of benzoylecgonine, a metabolite produced only when cocaine has been used. Q: do all COC tests look for the metabolite benzoylecgonine

  1. yes thats what the test is looking for, cocaine [coc] the benzoyleconine if left in your body for 3-4 days after use
  2. The chemical name for cocaine is benzoylmethyl ecgonine, which has a metabolite of benzoylecgonine. Both are tested for. However, cocaine can only be tested for in urine for 2-3 days, slightly longer with heavy use. Hair tests are more expensive, but have a much longer detection period of 90 days. Check my source for more information. Good luck with your son, I hope things work out for the best for you and your family.
