is a saliva test actually the same as a blood test when doing a paternity test?
i need to have a paternity test done now in nevada they offer a saliva test for free and a blood test costs money? but do they work the same?

- well actually its the same.For paternity test you need dna which is present in both blood as well as saliva.Though blood is preffered as it contains dna in concentrated form.
- It's the DNA, unimportant from what source it is taken. The saliva, however, is easier.
- It's not saliva that they are taking; they are taking some cells from your gum and inside cheek. DNA is the same whether from blood cells or other cells.
