Are home drug test kits accurate?
I want to know if my son is still smoking pot, but I have a limited budget. I've seen some home kit's online that are very reasonable, but I'm wondering how accurate they are. Does anyone have any experience with these?

- They are fairly accurate, though professional tests are better. Can you take him to a doctor? They can do much more accurate tests.
- They are pretty accurate - not 100% or as good as a professional grade test, but they do work. I have friends who have busted their kids with these home tests, so I say they work pretty darn well. If you still have reason to believe your son is still smoking pot, I would say go ahead and test him, but if you are just wanting to know to put yourself at ease without him giving you any reason to doubt that he is clean, I'd say hold off for a while.
- I work in a prosecutor's office and my boss's husband owns a personal safety supply store. Home drug tests are sold in there for about $6 a test and they are accurate. We use them here in the office sometimes to call the bluff of some of our lying defendants when they claim that they are clean and sober. I have administered many and the results are usually very clear to see.
- yes
