is a there a diffrentce between a blood drug test and a normal blood test?

1. well the amount they take from you arm is relatively the same... i think anyway. they just test for different things in the lab

5. Yes. A drug blood test is just looking for signs of common drugs. A standard blood test does not test for drugs, but instead markers of health, like red and white blood cell count, cholesterol, etc.

When you draw blood for a test the only thing that is going to vary is the kind of anti coagulate they might use in the vacutainer because certain additives might make certain tests more difficult. Down stream applications will be different, because they will test specific things based on what the test is for, but for you it will seem the same whether they are testing for a medical condition or doing a toxicology screening.
