Blood Drug Testing

How long after smoking weed am I safe to do a saliva drug test?

Totally hypothetical, of course.

  1. marijuana stays in your system for at least a month depending on your weight.
  2. u wouldnt have to ask this if u didnt smoke drugs and if you were clean
  3. There is no current formula to accurately work out how long THC, the active ingredient of cannabis, will remain in the system, but as a rough guide, it is estimated to be around 48-72 hours in a one-off or occasional user and up to 6 weeks in a heavy user. Personally I find the whole idea of testing employees for drugs a breach of your civil liberties, considering that legal drugs such as alcohol are potentially far more damaging than marijuana, but we'll leave that argument for another board. For now, here's a link with advice on how to beat the saliva test; http://saliva-drug-test.org/testing-for-marijuana-use/
  4. Hmm dubious answer offering a way to 'beat' the test. Cannabis does stay in the system for a long period and in a urine test can be found after even three months. It's called dope for a reason and instead of googling how to beat the test go and look up the brain scans of users. Or check out this latest finding - http://www.schizophreniaresearch.org.au/newsEvents/resNews/cannabis2008.asp The Schizophrenia research institute found that - "The cannabis users were found to have an averaged 12 per cent volume reduction of the hippocampus, and a 7 per cent reduction of the amygdala compared to controls. " 1. The risk of psychosis is increased by around 40 per cent in people who have used cannabis; 2. There is a dose-response effect, leading to an increased risk of 5–200 per cent in the most frequent users; 3. If using cannabis increases risk, as research suggests, 14 per cent of psychotic outcomes in young people would not have occurred if cannabis had not been consumed. (Schizophrenia research institute.) Now I am utterly sure that there will be howls of protest about this study and plenty of people will post other findings that are the complete opposite. This self serving attitude only comes from those trying to validate their own use. I ran a Drug and Alcohol detox unit and quite frankly it was easier with a unit full of heroin addicts detoxing than a unit full of dope users. Anecdotal yes I know but until you have worked in one of these units and seen what people have to go through then you can't comment. Cannabis users do it tough when coming off the drug and manifest some nasty detox symptoms not confined to emotional instability, psychotic breaks, uncontrollable anger, general feeling of being unwell and sick and many others. I suppose what I am saying is that cannabis is a drug - not a 'soft' one as there is no such thing and not 'recreational'. It is a dangerous drug and you would be so much better off stopping your use rather than expending your energy in finding a way to 'beat the test'. Be ready for the vitriol and anger that my response is going to bring out but I have experience in the dreadful toll this drug takes so I do offer this advice with some knowledge.
