Blood Drug Testing

How is HIV detected without HIV bloodwork or saliva test?

I had a papsmear, CBC bloodwork, biopsy, and a LEEP procedure. The LEEP procedure was 3 months after the pap smear and CBC bloodwork and one week after the biopsy. Now I'm being asked to have an HIV test. How could they detect HIV without the test to begin with?

  1. well you can detect HIV with symptoms. like bruise color marks, weight loss, loss of appetiate or other symptoms. but them signs doesn't come right away it takes months or years for those signs to show. but if you had protected sex and didn't have contact with anyone else blood you shoulnd' thave anything to worry about
  2. There really is no way to tell without blood work, while there are other obvious symptoms like the answerer above me said, they are also the same symptoms in MANY MANY MAAAAAANY other things. Bloodwork is the only way to know.
  3. They can't detect HIV with out a test. HIV tests are antibody specific and have to be done separately from other testing. So I would assume they are asking you to take a HIV test to either rule it out or consider it. Please be aware that things like Lupus can create a false positive on a HIV test.
