Will a home drug test tell me if I can pass an Army drug test?
I smoked ritualistically for about 2 years, and quit in early June. For some inane reason I decided to smoke last Friday(had a rough week and someone offered for free). I took a home drug test today and passed it. I have a really fast metabolism. I'm 5'10" and 135 lbs. I'm skinny as hell. I need to know if this passing will be accurate for MEPS. I haven't set a date to go but I am thinking around Friday of next week. Is the positive on the home test gonna tell me that I will pass the MEPS drug test???? I really haven't smoked since June. And I didn't smoke much. I had like a few hits off a pipe. Ok. I know it was stupid to do. I am an idiot for doing it. I am not weak however. I think I am strong for being able to admit that I made a mistake. And lady I am going to join the Army whether you like it or not.

- Not necessarily. Not only that, but if you go and see a recruiter, it is not likely that you will have your physical the same day anyway. If I were you however, I would lay off for at least 30 days. Some tests are accurate enough to pick it up to that point.
- It depends on how much you smoked and if you really haven't smoked since June. It also depends on the type of drug test ie urine analyzed in a lab/hair follicle. Honestly, I think you are fine! I had to take some drug tests over a period of a year, and I learned how fast or slow weed left my body. After a month, it's gone. At that point, if you take a COUPLE hits, it should be out in 3 days. PS don't try it again! it's not worth how you are feeling right now
- Yes. People like bank tellers and people that handle cash get exposed to alot of drugs anyways, so you're allowed a risidual amount of it in you anyways.
- If you knew you were enlisting and going to MEPS why did you smoke? A hard week? Well the military is hard so are you going to smoke after you get in if you do? You have shown you are weak therefore do your country a favor and don't join.
- hmmm let me think NO
- Yes, it was a stupid mistake. Yes, you were weak to give into temptation. Why do you think that if you gave in now, you won't give in later when you are in the Army? If you can't resist the temptation, you are setting yourself up for failure. And that can cost you a lot in the Army. But, give yourself a month to clear your system. If you have truly quit, good for you. BUT DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!
