which one is more accurate by doctors, blood or urine pregnancy test?
I'm goint to the doctor tomorrow because I've missed my period by 3 weeks now, so at the clinic they only do urine pregnancy test not blood. So would this be still accurate as the blood test? is it the same as home preg. test or different? I already took 2 home pregnancy test and it was negative. Thats why I want to know if is accurate. - If you are that late, yes it will be accurate.
- i havent had a blood test so i dont know
- It's the same. They'll do a blood test to confirm it and to see your hgc levels.
- You should know now by urine. But blood is more accurate.
- A doctor's urine pregnancy test, and one you buy at the store are EXACTLY the same.
- They are very similar to HPTs... They dip a test strip in your urine. A blood test will be way more accurate, but if you're three weeks late on a normal cycle and the HPTs and strips at a clinic are all negative, you're probably not pregnant. I guess you won't really know for sure until your blood test results come back! Best of luck!
- Since you are so far past your period, a urine test will be accurate. However, blood test are more accurate. Urine Analysis is only a Qualitative (Yes/No) test, while blood tests are Quantitative (how high your HCG levels are). EDIT - I am now 24 weeks pregnant, and I took 5 HPT's, they were ALL negative, but having had 2 previous preg. before I KNEW i was preg. So I went and had a blood test. I wasn't QUITE far enough along yet to tell from a UA.
- My doc said the Home Pregnancy Test are so accurate, that if you have a positive they just mark that you are pregnant. I told my doctor of the positve at 4 1/2 wks and didnt even go in for the first time until 8 wks. So, yes, your docs urine test will confirm accuratley. They may also to an examine also, which will confirm. Otherwise, they will check to see what else is going on if you are not pregnant due to the negatives, Make sure you are following the test to the letter!
- the dr. does use the same kind of home pregnancy test as the stores sell so when you go tell them about your period and how u use the home pregnancy test and ask if they can draw your blood because blood is more accurate.
- The tests the doctors use are very accurate. But blood tests are more accurate.
- If you're late, both should be accurate. Both can be wrong, but blood is usually much more accurate.
- 3 weeks past your period, a home pregnancy test would detect the hormone. But the blood tests are more reliable and are very accurate. GL.
