- They are accurate but not 100%. A girl I work with thought she was preg, but hpt and blood test said no. The doc told her she was just having female probs. Finally when she was 5 month they confirmed it.
- no blood tests are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy accurate... http://optionline.org/ http://www.pregnancystories.net/
- blood test ARE 100 percent.
- If done correctly, then yes, a blood test for pregnancy is 100% accurate. That being said, technicians make mistakes. I was pregnant, and had a negative blood test. Simple lab error. Good luck!
- Home pregnancy tests are around 97% accurate when done correctly. However, a blood test is more accurate, but not necessarily more sensitive. The results depend a lot on the lab, methodology and technique of the blood test performed. A quantitative blood test, usually called a beta human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) test, measures the exact units of hCG in the blood. That means it will detect even the most minimal level. There is another type of blood test sometimes called a qualitative human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) test. This is a test that simply gives a yes or no answer to whether you are pregnant.
- blood tests are accurate, but hpt tests are the same that the ones that Dr's use and are just as accurate. The dr told me that "if i really wanted to know if i was pregnant then lets go to the other room and have have a look with an ultrasound" i was pregnant, you are not!
- Not exactly 100%, but then more accurate that HPT. :)
