My blood test says ferritin 457 and very elevated liver function tests, what could this be?

- Well, I'm not sure about the 'ferritin 457' thing, but elevated liver function could mean the liver is producing a lot of bile, which is a good thing, the bile gets stored in the gallbladder and is released when fats come down the duodenum of the intestine to get mashed up and killed by the bile.
- ferritin: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003490.htm dunno about the relationship , what did they test you for? don't you have the exam's interpretation? sounds like it's diabetes related, those ferritin levels are very high
- maybe hemochromatosis? you need to go back for more tests. I had very elevated liver enzymes,i was really sick, itchy all over, tired. If you drink alcohol, this is a warning for you to stop ASAP! if you don't drink, this is something serious. Did you have your gall bladder removed?do you have any stones maybe?all these things must be checked, and get tested for hepatitis too!
