How can I get blood to come out during blood tests?
Recently, I tried to take a blood test. They attempted retrieving blood 3 times. Twice in both arms and once in my hand. Each time no blood came out. Is there anything I can do so it will come out next time?

- The only thing they can do is try different veins. They can also prick your finger if they only need a small amount of blood. There isn't really anything you can do. Unfortunately it is harder to get blood out of some people's veins than others..
- I was a phlebotomist [blood drawer] for years and even taught it at the hospital where I worked. Some people have veins that are difficult to get into, but a good drawer can almost always get blood in one or two tries. It is not your fault that the blood drawer had trouble. You probably had an inexperienced person working on you.
- I would get a better doctor. They're supposed to know how to do things like that.
