Going to get my blood and perhaps urine tested tomorrow for disease. Will they test for drugs?
I have to get tested. I've been clean for about 15 days. I know it's a test to determine if i'm sick or not and i know my blood is going to get tested and probably my urine too. Do they usually check for drugs in these situations?

- They only test for what the doctor orders, so if he orders a drug test, they will test for that; if he doesn't they won't. Ask him/her what (he) is testing for.
- They won't test for drugs unless you are under "surveillance" like probation or something. Otherwise, it's not something the hospital tests for. I have had urine tested for pregnancy and they also tested for UTI without telling me, but only other illnesses, not drugs.
- No they don't usually test for drugs. But it's your doctor and they aren't allowed to tell anybody if you're using because of that whloe confidentiality thing. You should tell your doc especially if you are getting tested for a disease. the doctor needs to know what you are using so you can be treated properly and there are no bad reactions with medications. And if the doc thinks you need to need to stop using for the improvement of your health, then they will help you, not report you to the cops. And if you are under 18, they can't tell your parents either. the confidentiality thing still applies.
- if your doctor suspects that your illness is drug related.
