Blood Drug Testing

Would an average blood test find cancer?

I didnt feel well and went for a blood test would this show any signs of cancer, apperantly there was nothing wrong with me. They took 4 sample not to sure what they do. Yes but they found nothing wrong so sureley if something was wrong this might lead them to check for it?

  1. no dear for determination of cancer we do biopsy like FNAC etc blood tests are for normal hemoglobin percentage, rbc or wbc count, blood sugar, creatinine level etc its not for diagnosig cancer
  2. a routine blood test is never enough to rule out cancer....and there is no specific blood test to diagnose cancer but there is what we call CANCER MARKERS...there are different kinds of markers for different cancers....moreover its just an assumption more then making a diagnosis from the test....so dont get paranoid if ur markers r abnormal its never to the mark in diagnosing cancer......
  3. Health An Accurate Blood Test For Cancer There is now a blood test that will accurately detect early cancer of all types. It has an accuracy of greater than 95%. If the test is repeated, the accuracy is greater than 99%. That is to say, that false positive and false negative rates are less than 1%. The test is called AMAS. Twenty-one years ago a neurochemist, Samuel Bogoch, M.D., Ph.D., discovered a test for cancer antigen, similar to today's PSA for prostate cancer and CEA for colorectal cancer. With hard work and good sound research, he found the first anticancer antibody in the bloodstream of patients with cancer. He named the new antigen malignin, and called new the new antibody Anti-Malignin Antibody. Hew founded a laboratory in Boston called Oncolab, Inc. the test has been finally patented, and the FDA has granted permission to market this test. http://www.lightparty.com/Health/DETECT.html
  4. There is no test for cancer just markers to check the levels for certain cancers, but they are not always accurate. I had a colonoscopy and they found stage 1 cancer, they did a blood test to check my levels and it came back normal.....and we knew there was cancer there since the biopsy came back positive. So I would not trust a blood test completely. I had no symptoms or anything, they found it on a routine colonoscopy and I was only 46yr old.
  5. Yes! They found my cancer - leukemia - through a blood test. A CBC (completel blood count) Of course, after that there was a lot more testing and all of that. But the answer is yes. And I am glad they did not find this in you. I hope you start to feel better soon. Take good care.
