Blood Drug Testing

I recently had Blood Tests done & I wonderd if any1 knew if 1 of the tests include being checkd 4 diabetes?

By the way, This was just standard blood tests they send most people for x The doctor never told me exactly what they were testing for x

1. usually when you have sugar test you must first be fasting for 12 hours, then they will check your glucose level, you drink a sugar solution then return about 3 hours later for another blood test to check the glucose level. They may go ahead and check the glucose level of the blood that was taken. If these results are more than 110 the doctor will usually want you to come back for a fasting glucose test. If your glucose reading of the first blood test is hi, this doesn't necessarily mean that you have diabetes, a number of reason can elevate your glucose level. If you are concerned about diabetes or if it runs in your family, I suggest you see your doc.
2. In order to answer this we would have to see the doctor's order or the lab results.
3. Most probably, the doctor only wanted some blood tests on you but not actually a blood test specified for Diabetes. But you could always ask the doctor and inquire from him whether a blood sugar test was also conducted. Good luck.
