Urine and Saliva drug tests - How do they test fat cell content?
I was curious as to how drug tests administered by urine and saliva test the fat cell content to see if someone has used marijuana? Wouldn't you need a hair or blood test to see if someone has used marijuana because it stores in the fat cells? How long then can a urine and/or saliva test to see how long ago someone has smoked marijuana?

- It depends on how much you smoke weed. Without trying if you dont smoke that often Ive heard it will be gone from your urine in 6-14 days. Heavy smokers about 30 days. I smoke everyday. Ive passed three urine tests on a few days notice. I stopped smoking, drank lots of fluids, and got a detox drink from the smoke shop. The detox drink may only mask your urine but it works for me regardless. Ive heard the saliva tests is three days...but ive never taken one of those. I dont think they are really testing for thc. I think they are testing for a chemical that your body produces from thc entering the body. I could be wrong on this..but its something along those lines.
- First, drug tests do not test "fat", they show the presence of either a metabolized drug or the drug itself. Second, yes metabolized thc is stored in the fat cells and as those fat cells are used up by the body the metabolized THC is released.
