So they can test you for HIV Now With a Saliva Test?

I am 21 years old and I went to get some life insurance today and they gave me this test in which you have put this salty thing btw your teeth for like 3 minutes. Then you dip into some sort of solution. i didn't know they could use a saliva to test for HIV. Does anyone know what this test is called? by the way i didn't have any diseases or anything. This test also test for whether you are a smoker. What is that called?
