Blood Drug Testing

Three BLOOD pregnancy tests: 1=inconclusive, 2=positive, 3=negative. What gives?

I've had three blood pregnancy tests this week. Monday it was inconclusive, this morning it was positive, and this afternoon it was negative. They are sending off for a quantitative. Anyone have any ideas why this would happen? The doctor was just as dumbfounded as I was.

  1. I know with pee tests your hormones are strongest in the morning. With your results I'd have to guess it's the same with blood tests but I don't know for sure. Good luck!
  2. I don't know, I took 3 tests and they all came back negative! It's been 7 weeks since my missed period! (no one's answering my question so i'm gonna advertise it you urs. sorry!) but i would recommend you taking another one. or a hpt or go to planned parenthood! best of luck. if you are pregnant, congrats! please answer my question! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkvRxwQm5V2KpUcFrO5PGmvsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090416135645AAbG1Ce
  3. take a couple of home pregnancy tests too, to see what the results are on them.. i have no idea how this can happen? good luck anyways
  4. Just an idea but the hospital told me when i went for a scan, women can have phantom pregnancies this is were the egg is fertized but it passes through and does not implant, so you can show pregnant on a test but not actually be pregnant. They told me this when i went for a scan at 5 weeks they couldn't find the baby at the time.
  5. it could be a chemical pregnancy. you get a postive test and then shortly after (could be a few hours or a few days, depends on the situation) you get a negative. a chemical pregnancy is when the egg gets fertilized but does not attach and therefore is lost.
