How long did u have to wait to get ur blood test results back?

I am going to get a blood test done on Friday to find out if I'm pregnant or not for sure (right now I'm 6 days late). I was just wondering how long it takes to get the results back. I don't think I could wait all weekend! Also, has ne body ever got a false negative with a blood test? If so, how late were u.

1. I don't think you can get false negatives with blood tests. Unless it's really early on, but 6 days late you would know. Usually it takes a couple of days for blood test results to come back depends on your pathology lab. Have you taken a hpt? Harriet
2. false negatives are rare with blood tests. I wouldn't expect a result back before 24 hours, so you may have to wait until Monday since you aren't having it done until Friday. Unless your Dr's office puts a rush on it & you have it drawn early in the day. OB/GYN RN & mom
3. dont's worry about 6 days late. my girl friend has even lated for 20 days. Blood test needs about one week. It is aways true. Keep patient and relax. Enjoy your weekend.
4. possibly one day for hcg levels and this are accurate
5. I went to the OBGYN and they did a urine test and then took a blood test to test for hormone levels and STDs. I didn't get the results until my next appointment 4 weeks later.
