How late does your period have to be before a blood pregnancy test will give you accurate results?

Okay last month i had spotting and this month i had no period at all, i am 5 days late for my period and i know if and when my period comes late but it didn't come at all this month is this too early to take a blood test and get non accurate results because i have an appointment this Wednesday? please help i need all the answers i can get please?

  1. i am not sure but i think blood tests r pretty accurate. u can buy pregnancy tests at the super market which can tell u when u r 1 day late or the day of your missed period. all the best.
  2. If you have enough pregnancy hormones to stop your period, a blood test will usually be accurate.
  3. It doesn't even have to be late. I had one done before my period was due by about 3 days.
  4. You can probably take a regular at home test. I always used the First Response. With my second pregnancy I was 2 weeks late & the EPT was negative, the First Response was positive for me in all my pregnancies. It's better to take them 1st thing in the morning, w/your 1st urine. Walgreens has their own brand of an early test, I have used it & it was accurate for me. Also, you are more likely to get a false negative than false positive.
  5. It does not have to be late at all. By this point you can take any kind of test and get accurate results. Good Luck!
