what type of blood test do I need to take?
What type of blood test do I need to take to check my thyroid? Is it just the typical test?

- The blood test is like any other blood test but the actual name is TSH The TSH test determines the amount of thyroid you need to take to keep the number as low as possible. A result of 1 is fantastic, normally a 4 is OK but when it starts getting up there you will need to be on thyroid medication (for life). The highest I have ever seen mine get was 22 and that was because the pharmacy changed brands on me. I was surprised by this because the dosage (125 mcg) was the same, my doctor wrote another prescription and made a note NO Substitutions, since then my reading have been within acceptable range.
