What kind of saliva test requires fasting for 8 hours prior?

My insurance company is requesting a second saliva test (after hearing my medical history). The first test did not require fasting. The second test requires a prior 8 hour fast. No one can tell me what the test is for. What do you suppose they are testing for?

1. Sounds like a test for illegal drug use to me. Thats the only kind of saliva test Ive heard of, unless they just want a dna sample.
