Will standard blood tests determine whether I have cancer?
Public Comments
- not enough info.
- What is a "standard" blood test mean. They have a cancer screening test that they take, but some of them require biopsies and not just blood tests. Sorry, go to the doc if you are concerned.
- No, only if you have cancer of the blood. Most cancers can't be determined by a blood test.
- No most cancers do not show up in blood tests. Only cancers like leukemia can be picked up with a blood test. Most other cancers can be picked up by CT or MRI scans. The they can be followed up with a biopsy. This is the method of detection for most, but not all types of cancer
- a cbc can be used for leukemia, a psa would indicate problems with the prostate. what kind of cancer are you talking about.
