Blood Drug Testing

What do they do with the blood lab work when done testing it?

All the blood adds up after a while I'm sure..where does it go?

  1. The blood and the containers in which it is transported and tested go in a bin which is subsequently incinerated at high temperature. Potential vampires beware.
  2. Most labs will keep blood for a specified amount of time after testing in case the doctor requests additional testing be done or for the initial test to be rechecked. The amount of time the specimen is kept is dependent on a number of things such as the test that was ordered and the policy at that specific laboratory. The blood is discarded in a biohazard container and then transported to a facility where it is incinerated.
