Blood Drug Testing

do they give you a blood test/ drug test when you get an exam before getting birth control?

my friend told me this, even though she hasn't gone. I'm fine with a drug test, nothing to hide. But I'm basically terrified of needles, and don't tell my a blood test doesn't hurt that much, it's not the point, it still freaks me out, i just want to know if they do that. I live in MI. 1. They don't normally give you a blood test as part of the process of getting a prescription for the pill. They only do that if you have symptoms that indicate something wrong like low iron levels or something like that. As for a drug test that is not a standard part of the process for getting on the pill. However, I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say. They can give you more specific information about the exam process for getting on the pill.
