Blood Drug Testing

When is the earliest you can get an accurate pregnancy blood test?

I had sex 6 weeks ago during ovulation (with condom) but both my boyfriend and i were drunk and i'm pretty sure there was an accident. to be sure, i took the plan b pill. However, my periods and hormones have been really wacky. I've been getting some pregnancy symptoms for a few weeks, and now my period is late which is freaking me out. Last week I got two pregnancy blood tests at 2 different doctors (my OBGYN and my general doctor). Both came back negative. Is it possible to get a false negative blood test 5 weeks after conception? Or am I just being completely ridiculous and paranoid? I haven't had sex since then. My OBGYN seems to think my body is completely effed up from plan b because I am especially sensitive to hormones and insisted that blood tests are extremely accurate. but the late period thing is making me uneasy, and i've been reading lots of stories about women who don't test positive until months into their pregnancy...is this common? Any insight anyone has on this issue would be wonderful! Thanks so much

  1. Your body would start making HCG around 2 weeks after conception. If you had sex 6 weeks ago, you'd be about 8 weeks pregnancy and you would for sure get a positive on a blood test if you were. Sounds like plan b did mess you up.
