Im nearly 6 weeks preg and i would like them done asap so i can see if something is wrong as im very worried and the midwife wont see me until im at least 11 weeks. What can i do?

  1. Go back to your doctor and demand a test. As the patient, you have every right to request certain tests. Considering your history, its not an unreasonable request. Your insurance may not cover it, but its still worth it if it will ease your mind.
  2. Call and let them know your worries!
  3. Go to a walk in clinic, tell the doctor you have bleeding and would like to have blood test to see if everything is ok with the levels. Mention to him that you had a m/c in the past and you worry that it happens again. But...also please don't be so stressed about it , I know how you feel, I had d&c 4 months ago and know your feeling...take it easy. I am sure everything is just fine!
  4. Call your doctor and/or your midwife, relay your concerns and tell her you'd like to have blood work done, you're not looking for and appointment. However, you can't tell from one set of tests if everything is progressing the way it should and even if 2, 3 or 4 sets of tests were done, all that is telling you is that your hormones are where they should be. This doesn't necessarily mean the pregnancy is viable. I totally understand your fears and concerns; however, it might be worse to get a false sense of security from the blood work. Good luck!
