How long does Glandular Fever show on blood tests for?
Just wondering out of interest, how long after contracting Glandular Fever does it show on blood tests? i.e. Can you still be diagnosed of having Glandular Fever after 3 weeks?

- I'm not medically qualified at all, but as far as I know glandular fever is something you contract only once, so therefore the anti-bodies should remain present in your body for the rest of your life. Assuming that they test for it using the level of anti-bodies, it could be anytime.
- yes. It stays in ur body for life, but the blood test will show it for a good lnog while after symptoms go away.
- I have to say I am not 100% certain about this, but I believe the EBV antibodies are present for life. If it's only been three weeks, then the antibodies should be present. VCA-IgM is the first antibody to show but usually goes after 4-6 weeks. The VCA-IgG I think is present for life. The other antibodies take about 1-2 weeks to show up in a blood test. If you have had Mono, after three weeks there will certainly be some evidence of this in a blood test.
