How accurate are the blood pregnancy test at the clinic? Can It Be False?
Public Comments
- I am in the Medical FIeld Work for an OB and I am a Mother of 3 They are 100% but if you are testing too early they can be false The Conception Process takes OVER a Full Month It takes 2 weeks for the Egg to Fertilize and Implant nad then it takes another 2-3 weeks AFTER Implantation to test positive on an HPT or Blood Test When was your LMP and how long are your cycles and I can tell you Exactly when you ovulated and when to test
- most likely 99.9% its rarely ever wrong.
- Anywhere can be false results. It took me 5 weeks into my pregnancy as all the HPTs came back negative even the blood work and this was done at the hospital. It all depends on the level of detection of the HCG hormone in your system. So,if you missed your period and are having symptoms, then my advice is no results are coming in positive then either way get examined thoroughly by your doctor.Good luck!:)
- There is like a 99.99% positive rate. I have never heard of one being wrong, unless the person was on clomid or a similar type drug, there have been maybe three or four cases of false negative and positives. So if you are on a fertility drug then it is probably 95% accurate...but otherwise, they are the best pregnancy test to take :)
- they are pretty accurate
- I think they are pretty accurate. Might be more accurate then the ones you buy at the drugstore. http://www.babyhopes.com/articles/bloodtestmoreaccurate.html
- They're pretty much always accurate. I've heard of freak cases where the woman had health issues that might have made the result be a false positives, but even false positives with actual pregnancy tests (The urine sticks) are really rare. Sorry about that dear, I remember when I first found out I was pregnant with my first child... not a great feeling.
- They are extremely accurate. If you are talking about a qualitative (the YES or NO) test, it can give a false negative if taken too early (before hcg is at a level high enough to be detected in the blood). A quantitative (the How Pregnant Are You) test will give you a specific amount of hcg found in the blood. Normal values for the quant test is less than 5 for a non-pregnant female. Anything above that is considered pregnant and is the more reliable test (as far as early testing goes). When a clinic does a blood preg test, it is usually the qualitative.
