Blood Drug Testing

transvaginal ultra sound for pelvic pain- negative hpt & blood test?

ok..about a month ago (beginning of January) i went to the DR because i was having a lot of pelvic discomfort and pregnancy symptoms. This had been going on since mid december. At the beginning of december, i had a very odd period. started with a few spots for a couple days then just 1-2 days of bleeding. I had this same type of period in the beginning of january and the bleeding last for about 24 hours. Shortly after my "period" ended i went to the dr's telling them of my symptoms. I had a pap - came back normal, was tested for STD's and many other tests including bladder and kidney problems & checked for other diseases like diabetes. I was very healthy. She ordered an ultrasound which i went in for 2 days later and i told the tech a little of what was going on and i said my main concern is pregnancy. She then told me that she wasnt ordered a pregnancy ultrasound only a pelvic ultrasound. I had a transvaginal and topical one done and the only thing they found was a small cyst on my right ovary. I am very bloated, and my stomcach has gotten a little bigger since the testing. Since i had the ultrasound would it have shown if i was pregnant even though she wasnt ordered a pregnancy ultrasound? I'm confused and feel pregnant. Oh and i am just getting over yet another "period" which i only bled for one day and spotted a tiny bit for 2 days. Any feedback would be great! they almost didnt even tell me about the cyst because it was so small. They didnt even comment about my uterus so that make me wonder of they got a good look at it. I'm also not on any bc pills and wasnt using protection..wasnt ttc but it would be ok if i got pregnant. I am peeing allll the time, have mild headaches, get dizzy, little waves of nasea, really veiny and have little bruises for some reason on my thighs (wierd but my veins are super prominent lately so i thought thats why they're bruising easier. Also in the last 4 weeks i have taken some pictures. here is one from about a month ago and another recent pic. My stomach is growing along with my appetite. I had NO appetite in december and actually lost about 10 lbs. I normally have a flat stomach being 5'7" and 125lbs as of my last dr visit http://s55.photobucket.com/albums/g159/lexus1422/?action=view&current=IMG_2041.jpg http://s55.photobucket.com/albums/g159/lexus1422/?action=view&current=IMG_2214.jpg

  1. I would think that she would have at least seen your uterus once during that scan. Also when the dr ran his test he should have checked for pregancy first. I would think you are not....but if unsure maybe get a second opinion.
  2. I have had a cyst several times and they always screwed up my period and would cause pain and discomfort, which can be mistaken for pregnancy....i would just take a test to be on the safe side, it would have to be positive by now if you are pregnant!!! If the pain is still there in a couple of weeks i would call the doctor back!!!
  3. She would have seen a fetal sac if you were far enough along to see one (approx. 4 weeks). In early pregnancy, ultrasounds are done transvaginally because this method offers a better view of the pelvis. If you were further than 4 weeks, she would have seen something to give an indication, which would be on the report she sends your Dr. She wouldn't necessarily tell you even if she did find something. If you still believe you are pregnant, I would ask the Dr for a blood test as that is the most reliable form of testing.
  4. My cousin just went through this. Actually she didn't even know she had a cyst until she got pregnant. It actually went away during her pregnancy but came back very angry about 5 months later. It caused her a great deal of pain and eventually grew to be 23 centimeters. She looked like she was pregnant and had the symptoms of pregnancy. She finally had it removed last month but lost an ovary in the process. Feel very lucky that you caught it early. MORE: I don't think your pregnant. Cysts do weird things to your body. If you feel up to it get a second opinion.
  5. I've had a transvaginal ultrasound myself, and they also found two big cysts one measuring a little over 4 cm. I was having stomach pain, but my periods weren't messed up, but I have heard in most cases big cysts can mess up your periods. You could also have a fibroid. I was on a birth control pill for over a year that I shouldn't have been put on Diana 35 which is for pre-menopausal women, (doctor was a idiot) and it had a high dose of estrogen, and it was the pill that caused these bigger than normal cysts and the fibroid.
