How long does a blood type test take? (including the determination of Rh factor)?

1. This test can be done in minutes with the proper reagents.
2. The actual test takes 10 - 20 minutes or so. But that does not take in account rules for recording and reporting the information. In an emergency, it would be reported immediately. Routinely the doctor or patient probably not get the result for a few hours or the next day.
3. if the script is written with the word "stat", it will be read immediately to the Dr. but usual & customary is the next day. i work for 2 urologists, i see these all them time.
