- I received my marriage license and got married obviously in Cali (Southern) and it took about 20 minutes at the court to obtain our marriage license. We did not have to take a blood test either. I am not sure who would be asked to take a blood test but we did not need too. After you get married and the person who marries you signs your license along with one other person, you mail it back in to the address they tell you too and you get your original license within a few weeks.
