Is there other types of tests for syphilis?

I think that I might have syphilis. How is a blood test taken? Will there be pricking my finger?What other types of tests besides blood test is available to detect this disease?

1. they take your blood. Probably one or two tubes of it. And that is the only way to know you have it. Good luck with that.
2. Primary syphilis can be tested through blood, and possibly through swabbing an open sore, if the clinic is capable of doing a certain type of test. Blood is the best though, it's the most reliable and most likely to be correct. They will have to draw blood from a vein. I understand that can be a fearful thing, but let the nurses know, they're used to dealing with it, and can assist you. Good luck!
3. Go see you GYN doc, he/she is going doing to give you a vaginal exam. that will let you know if you have syphilis or not. Is not painful dont dont worry about it.
