Blood Drug Testing

Would going to the dentist affect blood tests?

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow and I'll probably need some work done. I also have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and I have to take dexamethasone for the blood tests the day before. I think they are checking my glucose levels and cortisol levels. Would the tests be impacted if I get a shot or something at the dentist's office? Should I tell my dentist? I can't really reschedule either appointment. The tests are more serious than the routine blood tests or I wouldn't be concerned. Thanks in advance.

  1. i think you'll be fine
  2. Having blood tests after visiting the dentist are fine. Donating blood after visiting the dentist is not. But you need to discuss any medical condition that you have with your dentist before treatment just to be sure. It is very important for your dentist to know all about your overall health so that you are not put at any risks.
