Blood Drug Testing

Does vicodin show in a pre-screening drug test for employment? How long is a prescription good for?

I had a baby the end of October and was prescribed Vicodin. When I got my first period the last week in December I took left over vicodin for the cramps. I just got weird pains again and took vicodin today without thinking- Is this going to show on my drug test on Monday?

  1. yes im pretty sure it does.even something as simple as nyquil shows as cocaine.you should let the doctor know ahead of time that you took vicodin
  2. yes, but it should not be a problem. When they ask you what medications your on at the time of the urine test, Just say vicodin..when they screen you and it pops for narcotics and codone, they know that you have a perscription...the perscription by the way should be "take as needed" so as long as you need them.
  3. That depends greatly on a number of things, first, how in-depth is the drug test? Is it a Urine test? if so, how many panels (things they screen for. a basic 7 panel or a full 21 panel?) or is it a blood test? Or is it the super - fun i need security clearance Lumbar puncture test? A prescription is usually only for 30 days, the length is on the bottle your recieved your pills in. That will show the expiration date. You should be fine in a simple 7 panel test, just drink lots of water and perhaps some Niacin supplements (they help to clean out your system) You want to make sure your Urine is a nice clear color, that will give you the best chances of passing. Same for a 21 panel test - but they scrutinize a bit more. blood test - you're screwed. LP - you're screwed. good luck!
  4. Yes. Vicodin will show up as an opiate. If you have a doctor's prescription for it, you should have nothing to worry about.
