How long does it take for blood tests to get back?

I've been about 6 months late since ive gotten off birth control. I am breaking out all over my body, so i thought it was time to see my doctor. She ordered a blood test to test my hormone levels. They took 3 tubes of blood, and said they were doing all the tests. She said they would get back to me in a couple days, its been a week. How long does it usually take for these tests to get back?

1. Depends on what tests were ordered. Most are back in about 45 minutes but cultures etc can take days. Call the office and double check because a week is just too long regardless of what they ordered.
2. You should cal for the results. Don't depend on the doctor's office to call you. My results were back in three days.
3. It shouldn't take more than 2 to 3 days at the most. It's possible that more than one lab may have been involved. Call the doctor to check on the results.
4. Good labs return the hormone tests in one or two days.
