Blood Drug Testing

Is it possible that I have a liver problem even if my blood tests came back normal?

I got blood taken to see if there was anything wrong with me, but my everything in my blood is fine. Is it possible that I have a liver problem and that you can't see it in my blood?

  1. depends, what do you think is wrong?
  2. I really doubt any medical professionals will answer here, just a bunch of idiot RNs who are about as up to date in their medical knowledge as my gold fish. Ask your doctor.
  3. Absolutely you can. All 'normal' tests are saying is you don't have cancer. You know your body - if you feel 'strange' 'exhausted' 'dizzy' then most likely you do. Here is a list of other signs - Bloating Ascites Dehydration Drug/Alcohol issues Insomnia/Lethargy Weight issues Emotional outbursts Yellowing eyes and skin - Jaundice Feeling nauseous and 'toxic'
  4. The doctor needs to have ordered liver enzymes when the lab tests your blood. They don't test for anything that he/she doesn't order. Just ask the doctor if they did in fact order liver enzymes and if these results came back normal. If so then you don't have any liver problems. Good luck and God Bless
  5. If your blood tests for liver function are normal along with some other blood work that can show a liver problem, then your doctor is going to rule out your liver as being the problem. Can they be normal and still have a liver problem? I'm not saying it is impossible, but highly unlikely. Even if your tests were abnormal, that does not automatically mean you have a liver problem. It's just an indicator that it could be. Further testing would need to be done in order to know for sure. Why would you ever think you had a liver problem in the first place since the liver is a pretty tough organ that can take a lot?
