What blood tests are done in your first trimester?
When I was 9 weeks pregnant my doctor took blood for testing. I am currently 13 weeks and had an appointment this morning. My doctor never mentioned anything about the blood tests so I asked if everything was good. She said that everything was great, thankfully. But she didn't tell me what they tested for. So now I am wondering what was tested. I didn't think to ask her at the time as I was just ecstatic to hear all was great. I appreciate any input! Thank You!

- Blood type, Rh factor, and antibody screening Complete blood count Rubella (German measles) immunity Hepatitis B testing Syphilis screening HIV testing All women should also be offered first-trimester screening for Down syndrome and some other chromosomal abnormalities. This generally involves a blood test as well as an ultrasound to measure the baby's nuchal fold.
- At 9 weeks i also had the test work for the same things as mentioned above by the RN, at 12 weeks I had the down syndrome check up with an ultrasound and blood work, everything there was good, thank God. When you see your OB, ask about the first results and ask about your 12 week complete check up, not sure if all Ob does them, still ask. best of luck!
