Is a drug test for a military physical at the MEPS building instant?

After taking a urinalysis at the Meps facility, do the drug test results come back instantly or does it take awhile? Would they let me be sworn in without knowing whether or not i was hot for THC?

1. It's not instant. And I believe they wait for the results.
2. no they are not instant, they are sent to a lab. might take 3 days, might take a week. yes, they will let you swear in, however, the latter will not mean sh*t if you piss hot.
3. They have you pee in a cup and they dip a THC and Pregnancy test in the urine and the results come out right there. After all that, they call you up after their done with all the paper work and tell you if you qualify or not. I swore in a couple hours later. Goodluck!
4. instant results.................two guys did not fly with my son when they popped hot at the final test before swearing in and going to basic.............. seems that fact that you are asking this might be an issue for you and if it IS, then you might want to decide now what you want more a grown up life or sit around being a waste of time and air
5. they will wait for the results before you swear in. at most places, it isn't instant because i don't think there is a MEPS that actually TESTS the urine, i think that is all contracted out. being you asked, that tells me you KNOW you were smoking the hippie lettuce an in my opinion, there is no place for you in the military. there is no way ANYONE can convince me that "they didn't know" or that they couldn't pee positive only doing it once, or that you didn't know the stance of the military when it comes to drug use. the recruiter is usually very up-front about that very early on. The military is not a place for druggies and they do not want you. bottom line: you will not ship until your results are back. If it is positive - you're SOL. they will pee-test you again the day you leave, so don't think if you ''luck out" with the first tesdt that you can go back to weed. If you test positive on the second test when you leave, now you are looking at dishonorable discharge and jail. if you're hot for THC, your're out - too bad, so sad, go apply at McDonalds...but be forewarned, many civilian companies - to include fast-food ones - test for illegal drugs. so if you do it, STOP. do yourself a favor.
6. I'm not representing the military or it's procedures; but I can clue you in based on my own experience. I've never heard of this sort of test happening so quickly, although some chemicals screen faster than others. Another thing to consider is that the military does this type of testing often; eventually an on-going user will get caught. Third: Anyone entering the military is under a limited legal situation, something like most civilian companys do (a six month probationary period, before full benefits and so forth kick-in).
7. Doing a little puff puff give huh..s*it that's coo. Just be clean..I'm sure you know that though. I just went through MEPS. The piss test results are instant. You'll be embarressed if you can't go on. They don't hide it,they'll call you out,tell you that your hot and give you a foot in the a**. Make sure you stop blowin before you go,I had to.

9. if you get a call from them or someone higher ranked then you know it came back positive. it does take a few days for them to get the results, and they may ask you to come back in again for another piss test if it is positive.
10. takes a few weeks. if you pee hot you WILL be publically pulled out of training.
