Blood Drug Testing

Why do doctors give you a urine test when you go for your checkup?

Im going to the doctors for check up and they always make me take a urine test. Does it test for marijuana(THC) or is it just to see if im healthy?

  1. many illnesses leave traces in urine for example diabetes causes there to be glucose in urine.
  2. They don't test for THC or any other drugs in the urine test or any other part of a standard checkup, unless you or your parents specifically ask for a drug test. They just do the urine test to look for health issues like urinary tract infection, diabetes and other problems. Like they look for the presence of blood cells to make sure you don't have an infection, if your protein levels are off something might be wrong with your kidneys, etc? Dont' worry about them finding drugs though, they don't even look for that in the normal test.
  3. It's cheap, and the primary things it screens for are glucose and protein. They test for marijuana in an even less expensive way: they ask.
  4. The office urinalysis is an easy and inexpensive test to screen for diabetes and other problems of the kidney and of the liver. It can also screen for urinary tract infections. It does not screen for THC or other recreational drugs.
  5. Doctors do this to check the color of your pee. Your pee should be white or yellow because pee is normally yellow. If you've been drinking good water, it should come out white but turn yellow as it enters in through the toilet. They force you to pee in a cup inside the toilet and then they examine it to make sure you're not carrying any HIV germs or AIDS. There shouldn't be blood coming out your penis thus that's why they check for urine.
