Blood Drug Testing

7 Positive Home Pregnancy Tests- Including one digital- NEG blood test?

I really don't know what to think. I am over a week late for my period now, presuming Im on a 28-day cycle. I had taken 6 HPTs, which all came up Positive. I even did one with a friend so she could time the 3 minutes (in case I had waiting too long on the others) and resulted in another (faint) positive. I went to the doctor the next day to get a blood test- and that came back BORDERLINE. So I did another HPT that night, and this time DIGITAL- And the test read 'Pregnant 1-2 wks' (since conception). So I got another blood test 2 days later (from another doctor) and she said that was negative. She has sent away for quantitative tests this time, and I am awaiting the results. Has anyone had a negative blood test and actually been pregnant? Im only 26, I have had a miscarriage years before, but thought if this was going to be the same, or a 'chemical pregnancy' I would have had bleeding by now? I am dumbfounded! I cant understand this as I was never a believer of the false Positives. Are these HPTs better than we think they are, and maybe the labs have a minimum level to say you are positive for a blood test? Thank you in advance Ladies!

  1. i have had a positive at home digital test, and when i got a blood test, it was negative. come to find out, i was actually pregnant. i am almost positive you are pregnant, since so many tests are telling you so.
  2. It absolutely could be a lab mixup. Or, it could even be that their test was wrong. With that many home tests positive, you are pregnant. Just a couple of weeks ago I had a lab test done that they said was nearly foolproof. They told me that I wasn't pregnant. I went to the doctors the next day because 4 hpts said positive. The doctor confirmed with a blood test that I was pregnant. The lab called back that same day and said they did have an error and that the test was positive! Unfortunately, I did end up miscarrying, but that had nothing to do with the error at the lab.
