  1. I have never seen TPO antibody levels that high!! That is thyroid antibodies attacking your thyroid gland with a vengeance~! lol. This is usually diagnostic of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis which is autoimmune hypothyroidism. "The frequency of elevated anti-TPO levels in patients with active autoimmune thyroiditis was 90% (clinical diagnosis Hashimoto thyroiditis) compared to 64% in patients with overt hyperthyroidism (clinical diagnosis Graves’ disease)." I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and my TPO antibodies are lowering with selenium (i eat 4 brazil nuts a day which is full of selenium but you can take selenium supplements). A gluten free diet lowers both antibody levels. Natural desiccated thyroid hormones can lower antibodies too if the dosage is high enough. Synthetic T4 medication may lower it to some degree but reading various websites, thyroid antibodies can rise taking T4 synthetic medication. The lower the antibodies, the less the hypothyroidism symptoms and damage to the thyroid gland. If your thyroid gland is too damaged from the thyroid attack, you may need to take thyroid hormones for life. Taking thyroid hormone replacement is the usual treatment but i am trying to get rid of my symptoms naturally. Some doctors will not treat Hashimoto's Thyroiditis if the TSH level is "normal" which is a common occurrence with Hashimoto's. 90% of hashimoto's patients have a genetic defect in their ability to process vitamin D. After a year of taking 5000IU a day of vitamin D, i still have low levels. I have increased my vitamin D to 10 000IU so far to hopefully acheive an optimal vitamin D level (80ng/ml or 200nmol/l).
