When should I get a pregnancy blood test?

I've yet to have my period - its still a few weeks away and ive taken 2 home pregnancy tests and they were both negative and i know that they wont show up until i miss my period but if i go get a blood test, will it show up sooner? I had sex about 2 weeks ago and I wanted to know when was the right time to go get the test. Thanks.

2. Wait another 3 weeks and get a urine test in the clinic. Clinic urine tests are just as accurate as blood tests but they take a lot less time give a result. If you go for a blood test, you are going to have to wait a few weeks just to get the results, and at this point it is too early for positive results yet. After 2 weeks, your body wont have been able to create enough hormones to be detected yet.
