How long after conception would it show on a urine test at the doctors office?

My girlfriend and I had sex about 5 weeks ago maybe. 3 weeks after we had sex, she took a pregnancy test at the doctors office, a urine test, NOT a blood test, and the results came out as negative. Is this enough time to get an accurate test? Would the result be false, given the amount of time that had passed?
