Blood test showed slighly raised levels ( of one of my liver function tests )?

i was suffering with night sweats for a number of nights and got the point where i was sweatting everynight for about a week.. and at one point i was getting very bad abdominal pain which felt like it was comming from my left side.. i went to the doctors and they asked me for a blood test.. and they told me that i have slightly raised levels in one of my liver funtion tests... mine read 117 when it should of been between 11-45 i think it said?... the doctor said it was abit high for my age... i do work out alot at the gym and have a high protien diet.. i usualy take a multivitamin everyday and i also was taking creatine about 2 or 3 weeks before i had the blood test.. i also use a weight gainer which adds an extra 1032 calories to my daily intake... i dont smoke, drink or do drugs... i always eat healthy ( had maybe 2 takeaways in 2011 ) i usualy have a cooked dinner with meat, veg everyday... i go out in town and get drunk maybe once every 5-6 weeks... im a light weight and cant handle very much.. everytime i do go out i always seem to get some sort of virus? where it affects the liquid in my ears and makes me feel dizzy for a week or so.. any ideas why my levels are high? is it my high protien diet? the weight gainer? the creatine?? pleaseee help im very worried. i havnt had any night sweats in about 3 weeks and that seems to have stopped which is strange

  1. Some of the liver enzymes can become elevated if a person does strenuous exercise before having the blood taken. There are different blood tests to check the liver. One is the liver enyzmes tests: the liver cells make these enzymes and if they become damaged, the enzymes will leak out and go higher on the blood tests results. Another one is the liver function tests: the liver cells are what does the functions of the liver, as a whole. If they are damaged and start to die off, then the functions that the liver does starts to deteriorate. The liver is located on the patients right hand side, up under the rib cage. The doctor can sometimes feel if the liver is enlarged in size, do to cell damage, by pressing up under the rib cage. He could possibly feel this enlargement. However, having an ultrasound or Ct scan would show it for sure. Many things can cause liver cell damage: alcohol consumption, medication toxification, chemical exposure, mushroom poisoning, viral or parasite infections, biliary duct obstruction/ malformation/ infection, fatty liver disease, hereditary conditions, auto immune disease, metabolic disorders and many others. Please be sure to tell your doctor all the medications, over the counter drugs, herbs, supplements you are using. This all goes through the liver first, to be broken down, before going to the rest of the body. Any liver cell damage, and these drugs may have to be stopped, changed, or decreased in dosage. On the left side of the body, up under farther, is the spleen. If the liver enlarges in size, the spleen usually does also. I believe I would have further testing done in the near future to be sure everything is okay. I would request to have a thyroid test done also, just to be sure these night sweats are not coming from having a metabolic disorder. If any of your tests stay elevated on the next results...I would request to be referred to a gastroenterlogist. No one blood testing is 100% accurate. Best wishes to you.
