what happens if you chew gum before a saliva drug test?

yesterday i took a saliva drug test, and i chewed gum before it. and the lady who i was going to test to. told me i cant chew gum before it. What does gum do that changes results of a drug test and is it good or bad?

2. The only thing chewing gum would do, would be to ADD chemicals to your saliva, giving you false positives for drugs or other things. Since the chemicals come from the gum, they will be at very high levels. So will this hide drug use? No.
