How reliable would a urine test given at a clinic be 8-9 days after a missed period?
My girlfriend has an appointment with a clinic tomorrow for a urine pregnancy test. She will then be either 8 or 9 days past the date she expected her period. How reliable would this test be at that point? The Only time we had sex was on the 9th of this past month, and she was supposed to ovulate around the 14-16th I think. If it matters.

- 85% reliable. Sex minus protection equals = well, I thing you know.
- 100% accurate because its that far past the day she was supposed to get her period. They may also want to do ablood test and if they do that there will be no second guessing. A blood test is 100% unmistakingly accurate.
- Well the doctors for some reason rely on them highly and there supposed to be almost accurate. However, don't listen to the doctor if the tests is negative and she strongly believes she's still pregnant because I used about 15 of the 'one step pregnancy tests' that came out negative and 2 doctors ones which were negative. Doctor said to me, your not pregnant. I insisted I was and she gave me a blood test and a scan which confirmed I was pregnant....(at 14 weeks) I've read so many stories similar to mine as well. I have also ready many stories of people just randomly having late periods. :)
- If your dates are correct, you didn't have sex anywhere near the ovulation, so she most likely isn't pregnant. Since she is already late, the test should be accurate now, especially if taken with first morning urine. That one she could have done home, didn't have to go to clinic.
- Pretty reliable because if she is pregnant she would be already 5 weeks pregnant. If you are talking about home pregnancy test those are less accurate on early pregnancy. Good luck!!
